CreaCIT is a Life-Long Learning Programme which the Digital Media Centre (DMC) is currently working on with support from the European Union. Directly related to the e-Craft Idea Tutor (e-CIT), this project aims to extend its precursor’s work with stronger pedagogic aims and a broader focus than just the craft sector. CreaCIT’s scope has also widened from just Secondary and Vocational Level education to encompass Third Level students as well.
CreaCIT has a much more creative focus than that of e-CIT. The DMC is currently working on a redefined approach to presenting and receiving information and ensuring the effectiveness of any new learning environment for students. The pedagogic framework is also currently being defined to encourage students to think creatively. The proposed online learning environment will be suitable for students of any discipline across the EU. It will initially be available in English, French and Spanish but is suitable for any number of additional languages. An initial sample of several exemplar tasks will be provided by the DMC to showcase the project’s potential.
CreaCIT is a two-year programme which is still in the early stages of development. It is hoped that following testing of current proposals and subsequent refinement that the project can be launched throughout Europe across all academic disciplines. The DMC will then provide support to third party partners and other end users.
