Doomore is an example of a Innovation Voucher initiative, where an entrepreneur approached the Digital Media Centre (DMC) to assist in bringing his business to the next level. Innovation Vouchers worth €5,000 are available from Enterprise Ireland to assist companies to explore a business opportunity or problem with a registered knowledge provider such as DMC. Jethro Murphy, a consultant in the tourism sector, had an idea for assisting hotels and other local tourism service providers to formalise and improve business approaches. The product would allow hotels and related service providers to drive business to each other online.
The initial focus for this project was to describe the product offering accurately and explain the step-by-step process of the system. This would provide Doomore with a visual and coherent representation of their offering to attract potential investors.
The DMC provided Doomore with a step- by-step document and several sample screens. This presented the client with an enhanced sense of how to describe his offering and sell it to investors. The client was so satisfied that they requested further assistance from the DMC. This second stage was a much more detailed process, outlining technical requirements and functional details of each potential screen. This further phase resulted in the client being ready to pitch to investors with a tangible sense of how his product would function.
